not so bad

Well I still have not been able to get on the site that barred me.
So last night I went back to a couple of old favorites.
Lasted 90 minutes in the 5000 player freeroll and picked up a few buck on teh cash tables and some cheap buy in sit and goes.
But will take a while to get back that $200 'locked' bankroll.

Barred!

Can you believe it, I've been barred from a poker room!!??
I got my freeroll winnings to over $200, made the required deposit but they just ignored my email requests.
Lost count of the number I sent..all very polite of course, but no reply!
I do not think they are making any money.
They offer a $3 freeroll every 30 minutes with $5 for 5 hours.
But there is very, very little cash action.
No rake!
Well, that's life I guess!
Will let you know if I ever get my money.
Not holding my breath!!

Big Slick

Big Slick is a great hand to get but how do you play it?
All the theory says raise at least 3 times the big blind to have the best chance.
But what about when the flop comes with a pair?
I am beginning to think that the most profitable way is just to call and see the flop cheaply.
I am going to try a different style of play.
I am going to go from the classic 'tight aggressive' to 'tight passive'.
That means I will still only play strong starting hands, but rather than try to get players out before the flop I shall just call and how things change on the flop.
I have found that with 'tight aggressive' I put a lot in before the flop but if the flop does not help I either check it away or put more money in the try and take the pot only to lose to a weaker starting hand.
Anyway, I'll give it a go and let you know.

Why?!

Why is it that when I get aces in the big blind everyone fold to me?
Why do my suited connectors never match the board?
Why after a long wait I get a half decent hand like ace eight but the guy to my left has gone all in?
Wht does the river always seem to favour the other guy?
Why when I get kings there is always an ace on the flop?
Poker I guess!
But at least I am still ahead!
